At the first negotiation date, both sides exchanged their demands. The trade unions vida and GPA are demanding, among other things, a wage and salary increase that corresponds to the increase in the 2026 collective agreement for employees in the social economy (SWÖ). In addition, the care allowance for all employees is to be anchored and indexed in the collective agreement. In addition, there will be a paid break in all federal states, as well as one week of additional vacation from the beginning of 2026.

In addition, we demand a night duty allowance of 10 euros per hour or a flat rate of 70 euros per night shift. There are to be further improvements for emergency paramedics.

2nd round

On December 3, 2025 , the 2nd collective bargaining round for the employees of the Red Cross Collective Agreement took place.

The funding programmes were discussed with regard to federal demands, but also with regard to the state annexes, and initial approximations could be achieved.

With regard to wage and salary increases, not all parameters (state couplings) have yet been agreed, so no agreement has yet been reached here.

The next round will take place on 15 January 2026
