Railway CT Negotiations 2025
Campaigning for a new collective agreement for the railway industry. Improvements in the collective bargaining framework law on rail.
KV negotiation
After the conclusion of the collective agreement in 2024, the functionaries of the vida railway department have begun to work on improvements in the collective bargaining framework law. The basis for this was the KV survey in spring 2024 among all railway union members.
Railway collective agreement: plus 3 percent, higher allowances and more vacation
A fair agreement takes into account the achievements of railway workers and brings tangible improvements.
Salary tables from 01.12.2025
Almost 6,000 colleagues took part in this year's survey. The most important results:
- The increase in Sunday, night and holiday allowances as well as an earlier achievement of the service anniversary are the top issues and a clear mandate for the negotiations.
- The other points of the survey are also included in the discussions – especially the compatibility of family and career, which is becoming increasingly important today.
- An overwhelming majority of participants are in favour of an increase in salaries plus an increase in valueable ancillary fees .
Thank you for your support!
Your commitment to the survey is a strong signal and an important backing for the upcoming collective bargaining negotiations.
Only if there are better working conditions and more staff in transport can a mobility turnaround succeed. I am committed to this with all my might.
Railway CT negotiations 2025
On 22 September , collective bargaining negotiations began for around 55,000 employees in 92 railway companies.
This year, too, we do not accept any real wage losses. As in the last financial statements, the basis for this is inflation in the period from October 2024 to September 2025, which currently stands at 3%.
The social partners have proven in the past that they can create fair and responsible agreements. As an industry, we have also come through the crises of recent years well. Politicians should not interfere in these negotiations, but concentrate on their tasks – such as better framework conditions and the elimination of competitive disadvantages in rail freight transport.
Update: October 07, 2025
Railway CT: Constructive talks, agreement within reach
In the third round of negotiations on the collective agreement for around 55,000 railway employees in Austria, a breakthrough is emerging.
Both the trade union vida and the Railway Association in the WKÖ report constructive talks and a positive negotiating climate.
"We are approaching these last steps constructively and responsibly, and now it is important to complete the calculations and find the final consensus on this basis. I am confident that we will come to a fair and sustainable result for the railway workers on 15 October."
The negotiations will continue on 15 October 2025 – with the clear goal of reaching a sustainable conclusion.
