Employers present slightly modified offer – next round of negotiations on 17 March

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, the seventh round of negotiations on the collective agreement (KV) of the Order Hospitals of Upper Austria took place - and under difficult starting conditions. The province of Upper Austria is still blocking a serious discussion about a real reduction in working hours.
"The employers have threatened not to submit a new offer at all. But due to our strike and the pressure of the last few days, we have at least achieved a measure to reduce working hours today in the form of an increase in the time bonus. But there are still some points open."vida-KV-Verhandlerin
"When it comes to working hours, employers continue to hardly move. Now it is time to move forward courageously! That's what we, the employees, are doing right now. Now the employers have to do the same," emphasizes Cordula Meßenböck, nurse at the Elisabethinen in Linz.
Next round of negotiations on 17 March
The next negotiation date was agreed for March 17 in Linz.
Today's day of negotiations was preceded by two strikes in which thousands of employees from all Upper Austrian hospitals took part. This significantly increased the pressure on employers.
The trade union vida continues to rely on constructive talks and a fair agreement for the approximately 10,000 employees affected by the collective agreement of the Order Hospitals of Upper Austria.
