Collective bargaining negotiations for tourism
First round without agreement. vida calls for improvements for around 220,000 employees – next date on April 7
KV negotiation
On Thursday, March 12, the first round of negotiations on the collective agreement (KV) for the approximately 220,000 employees in the hotel and catering industry took place.
"The positions were still too far apart for an agreement today," reports Eva Eberhart, head of negotiations for the trade union vida. The current offer would not correspond to the increased cost of living of the employees.
Both sides set out their demands. The trade union vida is demanding real wage increases, at least twelve guaranteed Sundays off per year and paid lunch breaks.
"The employers offered wage and salary adjustments of only 2.3 percent. Our demand, on the other hand, is 3.8 percent in order to prevent a loss of income for employees and to show them the respect they deserve."Verhandlungsleiterin der Gewerkschaft vida
The annual inflation rate is 3.6 percent.
The next negotiation date was agreed for April 7.
"We look forward to further discussions and remain open to constructive suggestions," said Eberhart.
