KV Negotiations Taxi and Ride Service
A minimum wage of 2,000 euros and a wage increase of 6.4 percent brings the second real wage and purchasing power increase in a row.
KV negotiation
We have reached an agreement: The new collective agreement minimum wage for the 22,000 drivers in the taxi and ride service will be 2,000 euros gross from 1 January 2025. This corresponds to a wage increase of around 6.4 percent or 120 euros per month. The rolling inflation underlying the collective bargaining negotiations was 3.53 percent from November 2023 to October 2024, announces Markus Petritsch, chairman of the road department in the vida trade union.
"In addition to compensating for inflation, we were able to achieve - as in 2024 with a wage increase of 10.3 percent - not only inflation compensation, but also real wage growth and thus a strengthening of purchasing power for employees in this industry."
Since there are virtually no collective bargaining overpayments in the taxi and rental car industry, the percentage increase in collective bargaining wages has a direct positive effect on the incomes of almost all employees in practice, according to the vida trade unionist.
