For the first time, an Austria-wide workers' works council was elected at Amazon. The nine-member works council team is responsible for almost 700 workers at Amazon's logistics locations in Vienna, Lower Austria, Carinthia and Styria. The headquarters of the new workers' works council is in the Amazon logistics center in Großebersdorf in Lower Austria, the trade union vida announces.

Horst Pammer, Chairman of vida Lower Austria, congratulates the elected Chairman of the Works Council Jorge Plaut and his team on his election on behalf of the entire trade union vida and wishes him all the best for his future work on the Works Council.

"We strongly believe in the importance of solidarity and justice in the workplace. As a works council, we are committed to defending decent working conditions and promoting a respectful working environment."

The main motive why Plaut and his works council members stood for election is to stand up for the rights of their colleagues, who face new challenges in the workplace every day. "We strongly believe in the importance of solidarity and justice in the workplace. As a works council, we are committed to defending humane working conditions and promoting a respectful working environment," said Plaut.

It's about ensuring that all employees receive the support they need to be able to claim their rights," says Plaut, adding: "Our goal is also to further develop a strong, united and proactive works council with the support of the vida trade union. Together with vida, we want to be a role model for Amazon workers in Austria and advocate for better wages, reliability and well-being in the workplace."
