Whether on the rails, in hospitals, in trade, in aviation, in security or in the social economy: it is the employees who keep our country running. Precisely because their work is indispensable, they earn more. We are now fighting for this in the collective bargaining negotiations. The motto is: Wage restraint? Not with us! Learn more from page 4.

Imagine doing exactly the same work as your colleague – but at the end of the month, you end up with less in your account. This is what happens to many women in Austria. On average, they earn 16 percent less than men. In order for this to finally stop, clear rules are needed: Equal work must be paid equally. Pay transparency is an important step in this direction – and it is coming. Read more about this from page 10.

But justice does not end with salary. Free time is also a right, not a bonus. The fact that we have at least five weeks of vacation today is no coincidence, but the result of decades of trade union struggles. And this shows that our rights as employees can never be taken for granted. We have to fight for it, defend it and protect it – together! More about this on page 17.
