20 years of vida: Together into the future

In 2026, we will celebrate 20 years of the vida trade union. This is a strong signal: because the future of work doesn't just happen – it will be shaped. Of people who join forces, who stand up for each other and who move a lot together.

Twenty years of vida – that's twenty years of concentrated and lived solidarity. From its founding in 2006 to the present day, Austria's transport and services union has developed into a strong voice for employees. Today, more than 130,000 people are members of the vida trade union. They come from many different industries – with a common interest: strong representation in the world of work and in retirement.

In the anniversary year 2026, it is clear that vida is not only a trade union of the past, but one that shapes the future – through courageous positions, strong collective agreements and the commitment to fair and healthy work – from apprenticeship to retirement. This is also necessary, because our working world is changing rapidly. And we make sure that no one is left behind. At a time when many people feel uncertainty, vida offers cohesion instead of division, solidarity instead of competition, co-determination instead of powerlessness.
