Apprenticeship contract and apprentice income

If you enter into an apprenticeship, this will be regulated by a contract. The contract is concluded in writing between you and the instructor. 

The contract contains, for example, personal data such as the name and address of you and your authorised teacher, your apprenticeship, the start and end of your apprenticeship and the date on which the apprenticeship contract was concluded. If you are not yet 18 years old, your legal representative must also sign the apprenticeship contract.

Read your apprenticeship contract carefully and ask your training company or vida Jugend if something is unclear to you. 

The apprenticeship contract must be registered with the apprenticeship office by the person authorised to teach within 3 weeks of the start of your apprenticeship. Your instructor must inform you about this.    

Your duty in an apprenticeship is to make an effort to acquire all the necessary skills and knowledge that are necessary for your teaching profession. 

Regular attendance at vocational school is also mandatory. In addition to the practical skills you have learned, you will receive theoretical knowledge there. 

Your duties also include notifying your instructor if you are unable to attend. If you are sick, you must provide a medical certificate. 

Your instructor is obliged to ensure proper training , to pay you the apprentice's income on a regular basis and to give you time off to attend vocational school.

Observe your duties, because neglect can lead to the termination of your apprenticeship!
