vida Magazine

Gewerkschaft vida

For many years, March 8 has been the day of struggle of trade union women. But it is not only on International Women's Day that vida women fight for equal rights and equal opportunities. They are on duty 365 days a year when it comes to equality – just like Leonie, Aglaia and Marlene, the three women on our magazine cover.

Fellow fighter at the side

Leonie, Aglaia and Marlene come from three different generations. They are all united by their commitment to justice. Her union is always at her side, as a fighter for a good and self-determined life. You can find out what it takes specifically and what the women want for the future from page 4 in the new vida magazine.

New government, important partners

Since March, a three-party coalition of ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS has been governing in Austria. Their program promises a lot, for example relief for tenants, progress in the health care system and important impulses for the economy. In addition, nurses should finally receive the recognition they deserve. And: Social partners and works councils are to be involved in various projects. This is important, after all, works councils know where the shoe pinches in everyday work and work with the union for better working conditions and fair pay. You can find more about this on pages 10–11 and 18–19.

Union always there

We don't know what the future holds. But one thing is certain: the union continues to stand by the side of the employees, from apprenticeship to retirement. Together we move forward – courageously and strongly.
